Optima MR450w 1.5T with GEM Suite

Our Technology(Magnetic Resonance Imaging) Optima MR450w 1.5T with GEM Suite

The Optima MR450w with GEM Suite combines the benefits of wide-bore imaging with GEM, or Geometry Embracing Method, incorporating an approach to MR imaging that reflects the importance of conforming the geometry of the equipment and technology to that of the patients.

Built on a fully redesigned MR platform, the MR450w offers:
  • Needle-Free Suite:
There is growing awareness that many procedures involving needles such as biopsy, contrast injection, and sedation can have potentially dangerous side effects to patients, add additional costs to procedures, and extend patient recovery times.

  • IDEAL IQ:
Delivering whole liver 3D coverage in a single breath-hold, IDEAL IQ provides a non-invasive, quantitative assessment of triglyceride fat content in the liver that can aid in diagnosing steatosis.

  • MR Touch (MR Elastography):
Patients who suffer from chronic liver diseases such as fibrosis and cirrhosis often require ongoing observation by a gastroenterologist. This can entail invasive procedures that don't always provide a full picture of the liver. MR Touch, developed by GE with the Mayo Clinic, approaches liver exams by using acoustic waves to identify variations in tissue stiffness. This provides an Elastrogram, an anatomical depiction of the tissue stiffness of the liver. The Elastrogram provides radiologists and gastroenterologists additional input to help them make informed decisions about treatment. The image is captured in as little as 14 seconds, one short breath-hold.

  • Silent Scan:
Silent Scan uses a unique combination of three advanced technologies to eliminate the acoustic noise at the source, revolutionizing how MR images are acquired.

  • MR Radiation Oncology Suite:
When combined with the advanced capabilities of wide-bore magnetic resonance imaging, MR Radiation Oncology Suite may help specialists more effectively characterize disease, plan treatment options, target tumors, preserve healthy tissue and assess response to therapy. Moreover, it also helps minimize potential registration errors between MR and CT within treatment plans. Patient-positioning packages allow for a broad range of tumor treatments, including brain, head and neck, prostate and gynecological.

    Other benefits include:
    • Ability to target and treat cancer without harming the healthy tissue surrounding it.
    • Allows MR imaging in the treatment position.
    • More effective and efficient integration of MR images into the radiation-treatment planning workflow.
    • Excellent spatial integrity with 3D GradWarp distortion correction.
    • MR image fusion to CT-based treatment plans.
    • MR-compatible solutions for patient immobilization.
